Lay the cable flat on the cutting board or work surface. Place the needles point in the valley between 2 wires at near the head of the cable. Press down firmly and draw the needle back down the valley. Just let the needles point do the work, and glide between the wires. You may need to make multiple passes per valley.

I cut the cable every fourth wire. Therefore making 20 cuts.

Next, use a tie wrap to bundle the cables. Start in the center between 2 connectors and work you way out. Try not to twist or pinch the wires.

Now lets tape it up. Simply use a thin layer of tape on the bundled cable between the tie wraps. As you can see I don't tape all the way to the connector, I leave a small gap.
